These six break all records

It can be a little more with these six animals: They are by far the heaviest representatives of their kind. Luckily, that suits them quite well. Because, as our picture gallery proves, the few kilograms more do not harm them at all from a purely visual point of view!

Our first animal heavy candidate is the leatherback turtle. She can proudly claim: “No reptile weighs as much as I do!” With up to 916 kilograms, it is a real colossus, but with a clear conscience it can be attributed to its size. The shell of the sea turtle can be up to 2.5 meters long, breaking records in the world of turtles. Another heavyweight aquatic representative is the elephant seal. Thanks to a maximum weight of no less than 3.5 tons, it can call itself the largest and heaviest representative of the seals.

Weight records for snakes and beetles

Admittedly, the weight of the large anaconda can actually be seen. The giant snake from the tropics of South America secures the title of the heaviest snake and can weigh over 200 kilograms in individual cases. With a length of up to nine meters, it’s no wonder. It is better to only look at this animal from afar. The Goliath Beetle, on the other hand, is less frightening, but still breaks records. With a live weight of 110 grams, it is considered the heaviest beetle in the world.

Attention, heavyweight in the air!

The Kori Bustard proves that even heavy birds can fly without looking silly. With a maximum weight of 22 kilos, it still takes to the skies, making it the heaviest bird capable of flying. And what about the world of rodents? Here the water pig (also called “capybara”) not only stands out with its funny name, but also with its body, which can weigh up to 45 kilos and towers over other rodents by a lot.
