The cuddly koala is probably one of Australia’s cutest residents. It can grow up to 85 cm tall and weighs between 4 and 14 kg when fully grown. Its woolly, gray fur is waterproof, so the little bear stays in a good mood even in rainy weather. He feels most comfortable in the tree, so you rarely see him on the ground.
Koalas are easygoing types
When not climbing through the eucalyptus trees, the koala moves on all fours. It is nocturnal, but on the whole quite a late riser: With up to 20 hours of sleep a day, the easygoing type sets a small record in the animal kingdom, even surpassing the sloth.
