First statement from the Kremlin after the Erdogan-Putin summit: Turkey reacted positively to our natural gas distribution center proposal

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of his contacts in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, for the 6th Summit of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
In a joint press statement with Erdogan, Putin said, “They were planning to sabotage TurkStream, but we prevented it. TurkStream continues to work without any interruption.” The Russian leader said, “Work continues on other issues. Our trade volume is increasing. TurkeyWe have declared our intention to make ‘the largest gas center,'” Putin continued. TurkeyHe said that ‘is the safest route’ for gas supplies to the European Union (EU).
